Completes Commissioning Test for NAMIBIA 10MW Packaged Power Stations (PPS)

03.25.2009
Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) completed its official commissioning test for the PPS in Republic of Namibia, Africa.
As the fourth onshore turn-key power plant projects of HHI in Africa on the heels of the project in Malawi, this project commenced last December to supply electricity to LANGER HEINRICH uranium mine in Namibia. With the successful commissioning and handover of the PPS to the client on February 28th, it has been providing stable electric power of 10 MW.
The successful completion of this project will serve as a good opportunity for HHI to give publicity to its high quality in-house brand HiMSEN engine in southern Africa. HHI earned credit from its customers by successfully constructing, commissioning and delivering the plant in just three months despite Africa’s hostile working conditions.
This project will serve as a bridgehead for HHI not only to secure the possible extension of the project but also to export HHI’s power facilities for similar power projects in southern Africa.
