HiMSEN H25/33V Received Inclination Type Approval Test

05.15.2013
Inclination Type Approval Test from DNV 4MW~6MW Output Range Model for the Offshore Application Hyundai Heavy Industries-Engine & Machinery Division (HHIEMD)recently developed HiMSEN 18H25/33V engine received Inclination Type Approval Test from DNV classification on May 15, 2013.
The engine has a bore of 250 mm and stroke of 330 mm. It is operated on a cycle offering up to 340 kW per cylinder at 900 rpm. The engine is available as 12V, 14V, 16V, 18V and 20V and covers a power range from 4 MW to 6 MW. HHI-EMD expects the HiMSEN family line-up will be expanded widely by receiving the inclination type approval test of H25/33V.
For offshore application (semi-submersible drilling rig, etc.), HiMSEN engine can cover output range from 4 MW to 10 MW with H32/40V (6MW~10 MW) approved by inclination type test in 2011.
The performance and reliability of engine have been confirmed in 25 degree heeling condition. HHI-EMD has confirmed major components of engine for proper function in severe environment.
Now, the HiMSEN engine is possible to cover the output range from 575 kW of 5H17/28 to 26,000 kW of 20H46/60V and applies to marine gen-set, marine ropulsion and land based power plant in over 44 countries.
