Vietnamese Company Orders HiMSEN H25/33 Propulsion Engines

10.02.2007
HHI-EMD has recently secured an order from Marine Trading Center (Vietnam) to supply eight sets of propulsion engines (Model: 9H25/33P) for 6,800dwt Cargo Vessels, which are to be built at Namtrieu Shipyard and Songchanh Shipyard in Haiphong, Vietnam. The order includes gearboxes and auxiliary equipment, along with the main propulsion engines. Delivery will begin in September of 2008.

A vessel named MV Tuson installed the same type of HiMSEN engine in 2005 and has been in service throughout Southeast Asia since March of this year. The performance of the MV Tuson has shown customers the power and reliability of the HiMSEN engine. It has also been an example of HHI-EMD’s exemplary customer service, which helped secure the order.

HHI-EMD has focused on 4-stroke propulsion engines within the Turkish and Chinese markets, but this contract is expected to diversify the export market for HiMSEN propulsion engines. The contract should also provide HHI-EMD the opportunity to gain a foothold in international markets and expand its HiMSEN engine sales activities within the growing Vietnamese marine market.
