The delivery of ship installed eco-friendly "EcoBallst" Ultraviolet Rays type water treatment system   [ Jun. 23, 2009 ] HHI has developed ballast water treatment system which is blue-ocean for ship equipment business by itself, extended is its business territory. Ship building division delivered German Schulte¡¯s 7,000 TEU container ship(Hull No.: 1950) which is initially installed the ¡°EcoBallst¡± on June 23, 2009. ¡°EcoBallast¡± is the first ballast water treatment system which is developed by research & development division. It eliminates foreign organism in ballast water. So it can solve the devastation of ecosystem by shipping service radically. This system eliminates foreign organism in ballast water by ultraviolet rays. It doesn¡¯t use any chemicals, so it is evaluated as eco-friendly system. It will take International Maritime Organization (IMO)¡¯s final approval early next year. After the commercialization of this system, HHI demonstrate its excellent technology and preoccupy the ballast water treatment system market which is estimated as US$200billion scale by the industry.
